About Me - Education
Hi there! My name is Alana (Ah-lay'-na) Curtis. I am a second generation educator, majoring in Earth & Space Science Secondary Education at St. Cloud State University.
I was raised with a passion for nature and helping others. Living in Minnesota gives me a great playground of geological and hydrologic features to explore and fuel my passion.
About Us
I am a mom to two amazing kids, Amelia and Michael. They are my exploring buddies ready to go on any adventure. They allow me to see how different students might react to different curriculum. My kids both have special needs so I am seasoned in special education and have a passion for seeing kids get the help they need.
Education Experience
Most of my education experience comes from volunteering positions. I am the executive director for a local non-profit called PlayAble, LLC that provides sports and arts scholarships to students with special needs.
I also help teach music for a local congregation's vacation Bible school. Lastly I volunteer with a local reptile group for public events in herpetological education.
